Yves Bissouma has received strong backing from Ajax Director of Football Jordi Cruyff following his move to the Dutch club.
Cruyff believes the Mali international has the experience needed to perform at the highest level.
Bissouma joined Ajax on a one-year contract after leaving Tottenham Hotspur as a free agent.
His agreement reportedly includes an option for another year.

Cruyff said Ajax signed Bissouma because of his experience in top-level football.
“We have brought in an experienced player who knows what it takes to perform at the highest level,” he said.
The Ajax director also highlighted the midfielder’s ability to play in different positions.
“He is capable of playing in several positions, and we hope he will be available for selection as soon as possible,” Cruyff added.
His comments reflect Ajax’s expectations of the 30-year-old midfielder.
Bissouma begins a new chapter at Ajax
Bissouma started his European career with French club Lille.
He later joined Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League.
The midfielder spent four seasons at Tottenham before leaving the club at the end of the 2025/26 season.
His move to Ajax gives him an opportunity to continue his career in the Netherlands.
The club will hope his experience can strengthen its midfield.

Bissouma is one of several players Ajax has signed during the transfer window.
The club has also brought in Thilo Kehrer, Julian Brandt and Ghanaian winger Simon Adingra.
Ajax will now prepare Bissouma for a return to competitive action.
