Arteta explains how to manage Dowman
Arteta praised Dowman’s ability to make difficult actions look simple.
“That’s something very natural for him. He can deliver those actions effortlessly,” the Arsenal manager said.
However, Arteta warned that regular Premier League football would present a different challenge.
“He’s 16 years old. You don’t see that in this league,” he added.
The manager said the club must ensure that Dowman plays in the right conditions.
He also stressed the importance of proper preparation before each appearance.
Arsenal want to protect the young talent
Arteta believes Dowman still has areas of his game to improve.
He pointed to the youngster’s defensive work and his ability to maintain his performance throughout a match.
Despite this, the manager said Dowman was improving steadily.
“He’s coping better and better and better,” Arteta said.

Arteta said both youngsters could become important players for Arsenal in the future.

He became the competition’s youngest goalscorer last season after scoring against Everton.
