In an era where digital content moves faster than ever, standing out requires more than attractive visuals. It requires clarity, intention, and storytelling that genuinely connect with people. For Kofi Bohyeba, that philosophy has become the foundation of his creative journey and the driving force behind Genius Mind Studios.
As a digital creator, filmmaker, designer, and entrepreneur, Kofi is part of a new generation of African creatives using visual storytelling not only to entertain but also to solve problems, build businesses, and create opportunities for others.
“I help brands and individuals tell their stories through design, filmmaking, and all forms of digital content that’s clear, engaging, and purpose-driven,” he shared with TrenderHQ.
From photography and graphic design to cinematography and brand storytelling, Genius Mind Studios continues to position itself as a creative hub where ideas are transformed into impactful visual experiences.
A creative spirit that started long before digital media
For Kofi, creativity did not begin with a camera or editing software. It started much earlier, through sketching and drawing in childhood.
“My journey into creativity started long before I touched a computer,” he explained. “I’ve always been strong with sketch art, even before primary school, so the instinct to create was there from the beginning.”
Although creativity had always been part of him, the transition into the digital space came in 2019 while he was in tertiary school.

A roommate introduced him to graphic design, and the experience immediately sparked something deeper.
“Seeing how ideas could be turned into visuals on a computer made it click for me,” he recalled.
What started as simple designs for friends quickly evolved into projects for local businesses. Along the way, Kofi taught himself video editing, script writing, and visual storytelling through research and experimentation.
Interestingly, one major turning point in his filmmaking journey came after watching season five of the Ghanaian series YOLO – You Only Live Once.
“That series got me into storytelling through video,” he said. “It was a way to solve problems and tell stories visually.”

The vision behind Genius Mind Studios
The name Genius Mind Studios was inspired by a belief that creativity begins with thought and perspective.
“‘Genius Mind’ represents creativity, problem-solving, and the idea that original ideas can come from anyone willing to think differently,” Kofi explained. “‘Studios’ reflects the space where those ideas are built, tested, and turned into real work for clients.”
Today, the studio focuses primarily on photography, graphic design, and cinematography, helping brands, creators, and businesses communicate more effectively through visuals.
According to Kofi, the mission has always been clear.
“To make complex ideas clear, memorable, and actionable.”
Rather than simply creating attractive content, Genius Mind Studios focuses on helping clients communicate better and connect with audiences in meaningful ways.
“We take ideas and turn them into visuals and stories that actually connect,” he said.
More than aesthetics
One thing that stands out about Kofi’s approach is his emphasis on functionality over decoration. While many creatives focus heavily on aesthetics, he believes the real value of creative work lies in communication and problem-solving.
“I realized it’s actually my job to make things make sense,” he said. “If I can’t explain the idea simply, I haven’t done the work yet.”
That mindset has helped shape Genius Mind Studios into a brand focused on clarity-driven creative execution. Kofi describes himself as “a practical and curious creative” who enjoys breaking down complex ideas into visuals and stories that audiences can easily understand.
The studio’s services currently include:
- Photography and portrait sessions
- Brand shoots and event coverage
- Logo creation and brand identity design
- Social media and marketing assets
- Script writing and video production
- Cinematography and storytelling content
Everything is designed with one goal in mind: helping people communicate clearly and stand out.

Creating impact through digital creativity
For Kofi, digital creativity is more than a career path. It is a tool capable of transforming lives.
“Digital creation is powerful because it cuts through noise and reaches people faster,” he explained.
He believes that strong visual communication can help businesses attract customers, increase visibility, and build credibility. It can also give creators and young entrepreneurs access to opportunities that were once difficult to reach.
“You no longer need a massive budget to look and sound professional,” he said. “A well-crafted visual story can put a local business, creator, or nonprofit on the same stage as global brands.”
Over the years, Kofi has already witnessed the real-world impact of his work. He shared stories about helping small businesses improve communication and gain more client inquiries through better branding and visual storytelling.
One founder, in particular, approached Genius Mind Studios with an idea but no visual identity. After the studio developed the brand assets and launch content, the founder was able to present confidently to investors and partners.
“That credibility made a real difference in early traction,” Kofi noted.
Challenges behind the creative journey
Like many young entrepreneurs, Kofi’s journey has not been without obstacles. One of the biggest challenges he faced early on was earning trust without years of experience behind him.
“When you’re starting young, clients often question experience before they see results,” he explained.
Instead of allowing doubt to discourage him, he focused on delivering quality work consistently until results began speaking for themselves.
He also had to learn how to balance creativity with client expectations.
“Early on, it’s easy to prioritize what looks innovative over what actually solves the client’s problem,” he admitted.
That lesson changed how he approached projects and helped him transition from simply being creative to becoming solution-oriented.
Another major challenge has been maintaining quality while handling growth.

“Building systems, setting boundaries, and knowing when to say no have been necessary,” he shared.
Discipline over inspiration
One of Kofi’s strongest beliefs is that successful creativity is built on discipline, not random inspiration.
“Creativity is work, not magic,” he emphasized.
According to him, many people misunderstand the creative industry by assuming creatives simply wait for inspiration to appear. In reality, he says the process involves structure, research, feedback, revisions, and consistency.
“I used to rely on inspiration to get things done. What actually works is having a process.”
That philosophy now guides the way he approaches projects at Genius Mind Studios. From workflow systems to communication standards, Kofi believes discipline protects creativity rather than limiting it.
Looking ahead
As Genius Mind Studios continues to grow, Kofi’s long-term vision extends beyond content production. He wants the studio to become a trusted creative partner for businesses dealing with high-stakes communication and brand clarity.
“I want the studio to be the go-to when a company’s message isn’t landing,” he said.
In the coming years, he hopes to expand deeper into strategic storytelling, messaging, and integrated branding while also exploring new technologies, motion design, and AI-assisted workflows.

He also plans to contribute to the broader creative ecosystem through mentorship, speaking engagements, and educational resources for upcoming creatives.
“The goal isn’t just to grow the business, but to raise the standard of how digital creativity is used in the region.”
Advice to young creatives
For young people hoping to venture into digital creation, Kofi’s advice is simple but powerful.
“Start before you feel ready and focus on solving real problems, not just making cool things.”
He encourages aspiring creatives to consistently create, publish their work, learn from feedback, and study business alongside design.
“If you understand how businesses make money, attract customers, and communicate value, you’ll never run out of work,” he said.
Above all, he believes consistency matters more than perfection.
“The industry rewards people who are consistent, clear, and useful. Everything else is secondary.”
Family, passion, and purpose
Outside work, Kofi enjoys spending time with family, learning about subjects unrelated to design, experimenting creatively for fun, and staying active.
Family, in particular, remains one of his biggest motivations.
“When things get tough, I think about my family,” he shared. “They’re the reason I push to build something stable and meaningful in the first place.”
Even with the pressures of entrepreneurship, he works intentionally to balance creativity, business and personal life by protecting time for rest and loved ones.
Final message
As the conversation wrapped up, Kofi left a heartfelt message for his supporters and fellow creatives.
“To my supporters: thank you for actually being here for the process, not just the final result,” he said. “Your trust and feedback push me to do better work.”
He also encouraged creatives to stop waiting for perfect conditions before starting.
“Start messy, keep learning, and treat it like a craft. The work compounds if you stick with it.”
