Voting for the 2026 edition of the Modern Gospel Awards (MOGA2026) has officially opened, setting the stage for nominees to compete for recognition across several areas of gospel music and Christian creativity.
The voting process began on Monday, October 5, 2026, and is expected to remain open until December, when the voting window will close ahead of the announcement of the winners.
The sixth edition of the awards is being presented as “MOGA2026: The ICAD Edition” under the theme “Rewarding Gospel Creatives.”
Fans called to support their favourite nominees
With voting now underway, the organisers are encouraging gospel music fans and members of the public in Ghana and the diaspora to participate in the process by voting for nominees they believe deserve to be recognised.
The opening of the voting period also puts the spotlight on the nominees, many of whom are expected to engage their audiences and supporters as they campaign for votes.
The awards cover a range of creative and professional roles within the gospel music industry.
Among the categories listed for this year’s event are Gospel Artiste, Songwriter, Producer, Instrumentalist, Music Video Director and Gospel Media Personality.
A platform for gospel creatives
The Modern Gospel Awards is in its sixth edition and is positioned as a platform for recognising people contributing to gospel music and the broader Christian creative sector.

Beyond performers, the categories also acknowledge professionals working behind the scenes and in other areas of the industry, including songwriting, production, instrumental performance, music video direction and media.
The organisers’ call for participation extends beyond Ghana, with gospel music lovers in the diaspora also invited to take part in the voting process.
MOGA2026 race begins
The opening of voting marks the beginning of the competitive phase of this year’s awards, with nominees now seeking support from their respective audiences before voting closes in December.
The eventual winners will be announced after the voting period comes to an end.
For the nominees, the focus now shifts to building support and securing enough votes to emerge with MOGA2026 honours.
