    Seven policemen face investigation

Seven policemen have been interdicted after they allegedly demanded money from a man and forced him to withdraw cash from an ATM.

The Police Administration announced the decision in a statement issued on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

Graphic Online reported that sources believe the alleged victim was a diplomat. However, the police have not officially disclosed his identity.

    Police name the officers

The officers named in the case are Inspector Courage Boateng, Sergeant Stephen Addo and Corporal Moses Anyravi.

The others are Corporal Prosper Adiabo, Lance Corporal Samuel Anokye, Constable Henrietta Coleman and Constable Bernard Amoako.

Constable Henrietta Coleman is the only female officer among the seven personnel named.

    PPSB to investigate allegations

The Police Administration said the officers were interdicted to allow an investigation into the matter.

The Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) will handle the investigation.

According to the statement, the officers allegedly formed part of a patrol team that demanded money from the victim.

They reportedly compelled him to go to an automated teller machine and withdraw money for them.

The police did not disclose the amount allegedly taken from the victim.

    Police promise further action

The statement was signed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Richmond Mensah.

The Police Administration said the matter would be thoroughly investigated.

It added that appropriate action would be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.

The allegations against the officers have not been tested in court. They are therefore presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
