Medeama knocked out of the CAF Champions League after TP Mazembe won 3-1 in Lubumbashi.
The result gave the Congolese giants a 4-1 aggregate victory in the first preliminary round. Medeama had already lost the first leg 1-0 at home in Tarkwa.
The Ghanaian champions therefore needed a strong comeback in the return leg. However, TP Mazembe controlled the tie and secured their place in the next round.

TP Mazembe entered the second leg with a one-goal advantage.
Medeama needed to score in Lubumbashi to keep their campaign alive. The Ghanaian side had struggled to convert its chances in the opening match.
TP Mazembe punished those missed opportunities in the first leg. Lise Ntumba Nyembo scored in the 87th minute to give the Congolese club a 1-0 advantage.
The second leg then produced another difficult evening for Medeama.
A 3-1 defeat ended their hopes of advancing. The result also confirmed a 4-1 aggregate loss for the Ghanaian champions.
TP Mazembe advance to next round
TP Mazembe now move into the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
The five-time African champions used their experience to manage the two-leg contest. Their victory also maintained their strong record in continental competition.
CAF had highlighted Mazembe’s first-leg victory as an important away result before the decisive return match.
The Congolese side can now turn its attention to the next stage.
Medeama, meanwhile, must regroup after an early continental exit.

Medeama entered the competition as Ghana’s representative in the 2026/27 CAF Champions League.
The club faced one of Africa’s most experienced teams in TP Mazembe. The draw placed the two sides in the first preliminary round.
Medeama hosted the opening match at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa on September 6. TP Mazembe secured a narrow 1-0 victory in that encounter.
That result placed pressure on Medeama before the return leg.
