    Charlene Quaye

Charlene Quaye wears many hats: she is a Maternity Nurse, Counsellor, School Pastor, Disability Advocate, Author of nine books, Parent Ambassador, and an emerging voice in faith-based filmmaking.

Living purposefully with compassion, resilience, and courage, Charlene is determined to leave a lasting impact by bringing overlooked issues to light through her work and storytelling.

    From writing to filmmaking

Charlene’s storytelling journey began as a writer with a natural flair for words. Over time, she discovered that films evoke emotions in ways books often cannot.

Behind the scenes: Crossing Paths (2025 Film)

Realising the powerful medium of cinema, she stepped into film production not to become an actor but to produce movies that inspire hope and encouragement.

Occasionally, she appears briefly in her productions to gain a deeper appreciation for the acting process, though her true passion lies behind the camera.

    A faith-driven producer

As the founder of Diamond Pillar Productions and Queen Char’s Media Network, Charlene is dedicated to creating faith films. She emphasises that being a producer does not equate to instant wealth. Her projects are built on faith, often starting with minimal resources and growing step by step through divine provision.

“Most of what I do is purely by faith,” she shares.

Charlene’s films focus on topics often neglected within the Christian community: therapy, unforgiveness, infertility, domestic abuse, addiction, relationship dynamics, and the struggles of singleness. Through her movies, she shines a light on these pressing issues, offering both awareness and healing.

    The making of Crossing Paths

Her most recent project, Crossing Paths, was inspired mid-flight after the premiere of her debut film Shades of Grace—which she premiered on November 4, 2023, in celebration of her 41st birthday.

The story, originally titled Shades of Love, addresses the challenges faced by mature singles. and offers hope that love can emerge in the most unexpected places. Despite facing significant challenges—such as heavy rains that disrupted filming and the mysterious disappearance of four key scenes—Charlene’s team persevered.

She describes the process as humbling and fulfilling, watching her imagination come to life on screen.
She had chosen a beautiful venue for the wedding scene with all the aesthetics. But when heavy rain forced a last-minute change, it tested her creativity and resilience.

Recreating lost scenes also came with financial strain and logistical challenges, but Charlene’s faith and determination carried the project through.

    Balancing life, faith, and filmmaking

Living in the UK while producing films in Ghana, Charlene maintains a delicate balance through teamwork, communication, and faith. She nurtures strong relationships with her director and cast, delegating where needed to ensure both her creative vision and personal life remain in harmony. Her central theme remains clear: to touch and transform lives.

What is said of you today will be written about you tomorrow,” she reflects, highlighting her desire to leave a legacy of impact.

Charlene defines success as “living for purpose on purpose,” always guided by her faith and asking herself if her actions would make God proud. She is a destiny-conscious woman who views her work as fulfilling God’s plan for her life. She credits her resilience to her mother, a single parent who nurtured her talents, encouraged her reading and writing, and helped shape her into the leader she is today.

    Future aspirations and legacy

Looking ahead, Charlene dreams of collaborating with renowned filmmaker Shirley Frimpong Manso and is planning a new project tackling issues of body image, self-esteem, health, and body shaming among women. She believes there is a rising wave of women filmmakers, and she is excited to be part of this movement.

For now, she remains committed to producing Christian films, the genre she feels called to serve. Her presence extends beyond film. She engages with her audience on Instagram through her Diamond Pillar Production and Diamond Pillar Gems pages. As well as on Facebook and TikTok under the username Charlene Quaye.

Her life and work are anchored in her favourite scripture, Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” This verse has sustained her through life’s challenges and her filmmaking journey.

    A legacy of purpose

Charlene’s journey, marked by faith, creativity, and resilience, continues to inspire many across continents. Through each film, book, and act of service, she lives out her purpose. To transform lives, spread hope, and glorify God.
