The 2026 edition of the Heels and Muscles Fashion Show (HNM Fashion Show) delivered a breathtaking celebration of fashion, creativity and Ghanaian talent, bringing together ten designers for an impressive display of male and female fashion at the Exhibition Hall of the National Theatre in Accra on October 10, 2026.
Organised by Recess Model Agency, the annual fashion event provided a platform for established and emerging designers to showcase their creativity, connect with audiences and present their designs to potential customers. The show also reflected the organisers’ vision of creating opportunities for designers who may otherwise find it difficult to participate in fashion events because of the high cost of showcasing their work.
This year’s edition was held under the theme “Rebirth,” encouraging designers to explore the concept through their individual creative perspectives and interpretations. Rather than imposing a single approach, the organisers allow participating designers to express their understanding of the theme through their collections, giving each designer room to bring a distinctive vision to the runway.
The event featured collections from ten designers: Jolynlux Fashion, Menobare, Kachi Built to Fit, Odefille, Truly Black, Klenam Chi’s Place, Cozy Couture, Juyaak, Bushai Weave and Chesa Fashion House.
Their showcase featured a range of striking fashion pieces for both men and women, highlighting the diversity of ideas, styles and creative approaches represented on the runway. From bold and vibrant looks to designs reflecting the meeting of African cultural influences and contemporary fashion, the collections offered attendees an opportunity to appreciate the work and imagination behind each creation.
Beyond the fashion presentations, the event was enlivened by musical performances, including an appearance by Yahyra, adding another layer of entertainment to the occasion.
HNM Fashion Show was established to bring established designers together with student and emerging talents, providing a platform for creatives to gain visibility and introduce their work to potential clients. The initiative recognises that fashion shows can be expensive to organise and participate in, creating barriers for designers who are still building their names and businesses.
Through the platform, Recess Model Agency seeks to make room for these talents to express themselves, showcase their collections and explore opportunities within the fashion industry.
The agency, founded by Ruth Sefakor Akumiah, began in 2011 as a group seeking modelling opportunities before expanding into a talent management and events business offering modelling, hosting, marketing, hospitality, event staffing, planning and coordination services.
HNM Fashion Show represents another aspect of the agency’s work in creating opportunities for talent and supporting Ghana’s creative industry.
The 2026 showcase offered fashion enthusiasts, creatives and other attendees an opportunity to experience the designers’ work while celebrating the energy and possibilities of Ghanaian fashion.
