Accra witnessed a spectacular display of tradition and unity as King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse, made his grand arrival for the Homowo Festival 2025. The King’s presence drew thousands, with streets filled with drumming, singing, and dancing as the Ga people celebrated their rich cultural heritage.
A central moment of the event was when the Ga Mantse paid homage to the late King Tackie Tawiah I at Makola. This act symbolized continuity of leadership and respect for ancestral legacies, reinforcing the deep historical roots of the Ga State.
Clad in regal red attire, the Ga King sprinkled kpekple, the traditional festival meal, signifying abundance, prosperity, and blessings for the year ahead. The festival atmosphere blended reverence with joy, highlighting why Homowo remains one of Ghana’s most significant cultural celebrations.
