In a post shared by the Ghana Police Service, Four people were detained for having over 104 bags of substances believed to be narcotics. Four individuals were detained after a police intelligence operation on January 5, 2023, in the Greater Accra Region’s Lolonya near Sege resulted in the illegal possession of more than 104 bags of items thought to be drugs.
The four suspects—Ntow Prince, Felix Owusu, Jery Quartey, and Daitey Mashack—were detained as they were loading sacks of the compressed plant materials into a boat near Sege’s waterfront. Attempting to bribe the arresting authorities with 20,000 Ghana cedis (GH 20,000.00) during the arrest was the suspect Daitey Mashack, the local assemblyman. Along with the attempted bribe money, the loaded truck with the narcotics has been detained at the Tema Regional Police Headquarters.
Following their appearance before the Ashaiman Circuit Court on Friday, January 6, 2023, the four accused were remanded into police custody with a court date of January 23, 2023. The Ghana Police Service expressed their gratitude to the Police team for their devotion to serving the interest of Ghana.
