FIFA has informed the Ghana Football Association (GFA) of a change in location for Ghana’s upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifier versus the Central African Republic (CAR).
Stade d’Honneur de Meknes, Morocco is the new the match between the two Nations.The match date, kick‑off time (17:00 local / 16:00 GMT), and match officials all remain the same
Referee for the match is Patrice Milazare (Mauritius), assistant referee 1 Louis Ralph Fabien Cauvelet (Mauritius), assistant referee 2 Shaji Padayachy (Seychelles)
Fourth Official Noris Aaron Godfrey Arissol (Seychelles), referee Assessor Fatou Gaye (Senegal). Match Commissioner is Jamal Kaouachi (Morocco) and security Officer is Odochi Joan Efughu (Nigeria)
The fixture was originally set for El Jadida, Morocco, but the venue switch is meant to ensure compliance and logistical smoothness. CAR has been hosting its “home” matches in Morocco due to the absence of a certified stadium in their own country, which means the change likely won’t significantly affect their logistical setup.
Ghana currently needs four points from their remaining two fixtures (vs. CAR and Comoros) to secure a place in the FIFA World Cup. A win in Meknes, combined with favorable results elsewhere, could see Ghana qualify before their final match.
