Belgian-Ghanaian footballer Jérémy Doku has officially tied the knot with his longtime partner, Shireen Erin Lyanda Raymond, in a private ceremony attended by close friends and family.
It all kicked off with a picturesque proposal in Dubai this summer, where Doku surprised Shireen amid candles and flowers. In a heartfelt video he shared, he said:
“You’re my girlfriend, but I don’t want you to stay my girlfriend. I want you to be my future wife.”
She responded:
“Where did you get this from? I’m actually shaking.”
The marriage underscores a meaningful commitment for both, coming just months after the proposal. Doku shared his joy on social media with a quote from the Bible: “I have found the one whom my soul loves. Song of Solomon 3:4.”
The ceremony was held in a private location and kept intimate, with family and select friends in attendance. Professionally, the 23-year-old winger is enjoying a strong season with Manchester City, making significant contributions across competitions and personally, he reconnected with his Ghanaian heritage, travelling to Ghana and even obtaining a Ghanaian passport during his visit.
Now newly married, Doku and Shireen are looking ahead to their next chapter both off and on the field. With Doku’s club gearing up for crucial fixtures (including a big match against Liverpool), this milestone arrives at a time of high momentum in his career.
Stay tuned for more updates from the couple and of course how Doku’s next on-field moves might reflect this fresh new chapter in his life.
