The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has confirmed that it has seized Shatta Wale’s Lamborghini Urus. The seizure was carried out in June 2025 in collaboration with the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice.

The car, a 2019 Lamborghini Urus, was taken from the musician’s residence at Trassaco Valley in Accra. This action is part of a wider investigation into financial crimes linked to Nana Kwabena Amuah, also known as Philip Osei Tutu.

According to EOCO, the vehicle is believed to be a proceed of crime. The U.S.-based Ghanaian fraudster was convicted of several internet-related scams and sentenced to over seven years in prison.

The EOCO seizes Shatta Wale’s Lamborghini case is part of an asset recovery process. The vehicle was flagged by U.S. agencies and traced to Ghana through an intelligence-led operation.

Reports say Shatta Wale initially hesitated to release the car. However, he later handed it over after EOCO officers explained the legal situation. The agency stated that the seizure was peaceful and professional.

EOCO also listed Shatta Wale and a former national security officer as persons of interest. Both are expected to assist with further inquiries.

The FBI and U.S. Justice Department are now preparing a formal request to return the car to the United States. This request will go through official legal channels between both countries.

The EOCO seizes Shatta Wale’s Lamborghini development has drawn public attention, but no formal charges have been brought against the artist at this time.
