Veteran Ghanaian coach Karim Zito has revealed that when it comes to managerial preference, he picks Pep Guardiola ahead of other legendary names like Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsène Wenger, Carlo Ancelotti and José Mourinho.
Zito, who formerly coached at the Ghana U17 level and currently heads Dreams FC, said his admiration for Guardiola stems from the Spaniard’s philosophy and the way he develops young talent. Though Zito acknowledged the huge achievements of Ferguson, Wenger, Ancelotti and Mourinho, he believes Guardiola’s style aligns more closely with his own coaching roots and priorities.
He stated that Guardiola’s approach focused on possession, tactical flexibility and player development resonates strongly with him. Meanwhile, Zito said he still holds deep respect for the other managers, but when forced to choose, Guardiola comes out ahead.
