30-year-old Bismark Amoh rescued after being allegedly kidnapped

Assin Fosu kidnapping victim Bismark Amoh was successfully rescued by officers from the Central North Regional Police Command following a swift operation in the Central Region.

The 30-year-old victim received immediate medical attention after officers freed him from his captors. Meanwhile, police investigators continue to track down the suspects responsible for his abduction.

The incident began on Sunday, September 6, 2026, when unknown assailants seized Amoh in Assin Fosu. The kidnappers held him in custody for over two days while attempting to extort money from his family.

The abductors initially contacted Amoh’s family using his personal mobile phone via WhatsApp. They demanded a ransom of GH¢45,000, giving the family a strict 24-hour deadline to pay.

During the ordeal, the suspects sent disturbing video recordings to the family. The files showed Amoh stripped, bound at his hands, legs, and neck, and subjected to physical assault while pleading for assistance.

Relatives and friends managed to raise GH¢19,500 and transferred the partial amount to the suspects. However, the captors refused to release Amoh and subsequently increased their demand, requiring an additional GH¢30,500.

The suspects gave an eight-hour deadline for the extra payment, threatening to kill Amoh if their terms were not met. Following swift tactical intervention, law enforcement officers located and rescued the victim before further harm could occur.

The Central North Regional Police Command confirmed that investigations remain active to determine all circumstances surrounding the crime. Police authorities assured the public that additional updates will follow as task force teams work to apprehend the suspects.

Furthermore, security experts urged citizens to report extortion threats promptly to help law enforcement respond effectively to organized crime.
