Haaland bags a brace as city beat United 3‑0

Manchester City delivered a confident performance against Manchester United, winning the derby 3‑0 at the Etihad. Erling Haaland was the standout, scoring twice to cement the win.

Phil Foden opened the scoring early, heading in a cross from Jeremy Doku. It was Foden’s first Premier League goal of the season. Haaland’s doubled the lead just after the break (around the 53rd minute) Doku set him up after beating United’s defence. His second goal arrived about 15 minutes later (68th), when a mistake from United allowed Haaland to break through and finish one on one with the goalkeeper.

Dominance from start to finish as City largely controlled play, especially with threats coming from Doku and Silva, while United struggled to get a foothold. The result reasserts City’s strength in big games, especially in local derbies. For United, this raises further questions about their defensive solidity and whether they can respond in upcoming fixtures.

Haaland’s form continues to shine, this brace adds to an already impressive goal tally in both club and international duty.

Erling Haaland: You could feel it from the fans, we needed this. I’m so relieved, so happy we managed to do it all together.
