Bologna FC recently made the decision to recall Ghana midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana from Black Stars camp ahead of their Serie A fixture against AC Milan on September 14. The club wants him to continue his recovery from a knee issue ahead of the domestic match.
Sulemana, who was an unused sub in Ghana’s World Cup qualifier draw with Chad, reportedly hasn’t fully recovered from a swollen knee sustained in training. Bologna prefers he return to Italy to continue treatment rather than risk aggravating the injury in the upcoming match against Mali.
Despite his absence, the Black Stars remain in a strong position in Group I, sitting on 16 points and focused on keeping their 2026 World Cup qualifier momentum going.
