Ghanaian defender Caleb Yirenkyi has been nominated for the Young Player of the Month award in Denmark’s Superliga following a standout month for FC Nordsjaelland in August 2025. The 19 year old registered both a goal and an assist, playing a key role in his team’s strong season opener.
His form hasn’t gone unnoticed as Yirenkyi received his first competitive call up to the Black Stars and made his debut in the World Cup qualifier against Chad on September 4.
He faces stiff but meaningful competition for the award, including fellow Ghanaian talents Prince Amoako Jr. (also of Nordsjaelland) and Bismark Edjeodji from Vejle, as well as Thomas Jorgensen (Viborg), Clement Bischoff (recently transferred to Red Bull Salzburg), and Hjalte Bidstrup (Viborg). Fans will have their say through a public vote ahead of the winner’s announcement after the upcoming international break.
